Willmott will discuss his career and work as a screenwriter, director, film maker and educator. Award-winning films written and directed by Willmott include Ninth Street, CSA-Confederate States of America, The Only Good Indian, Battle for Bunker Hill, Jayhawkers and Destination Planet Negro.

Willmott received an Academy Award and BAFTA (the British Academy Award) for co-writing the feature film BlackKKKlansman with Spike Lee and is Professor Emeritus in the Media and Film Studies Department of Kansas University.
